Hi, I’m Rebecca and I’m a certified Sleep Sense ™ Consultant. I’ve also studied as an Anaesthesia Associate at PostGraduate level (a very different kind of sleep!) and worked within the NHS and Healthcare Industry for my entire working career. Helping and caring for other people is what I enjoy and do best. I’m also married and a mother to our baby boy, and we have a crazy cocker spaniel too.
Before I had my baby, I read various articles and social media posts that led me to believe having a child meant sleep was no longer an option. People told me I had to accept I was just going to be sleep deprived.
I think that was fair to say for the first few weeks and months. But after many months of multiple wake ups and feeds along with terrible naps I was exhausted. I also began to start really struggling with my mental health. How would I cope? How was I going to get through this and still be the parent I wanted to be, on such little sleep?
I searched the internet and found a multitude of ideas and ways to try and help my baby to sleep. I tried everything but nothing worked and even if there was some improvement it was usually short lived and inconsistent. At the point of knowing I could not carry on like this, I reached out for some help, and contacted a Sleep Consultant who guided me through the process step by step. Very quickly my baby learned the skills he needed to sleep through the night consistently and nap well. This was life changing for our family. My baby was less grouchy, his development improved and he was like a new and much happier child! I was able to function again and be a better mum to my baby.
So the good news is, I am now here to help you with your sleep issues!
